Nicest road we were on

We couldn't get over the CRAPPY roads in Costa Rica. this is a taxi ride back to the airport. The gas station is HUGE and feels in the middle of nowhere. Derek and I had to drive our ATV over to get gas a few days prior... it was an interesting experience to say the least.

The roads are crazy. No going over 35 mph for fear of potholes/water crossings. Definitely not getting anywhere fast around Costa Rica!

Things to note:

1. 12 seater plane
2. gravel dirt runway right on the beach (you can see it when I turn the camera)
3. $1 airport tax to land and takeoff (very casual, someone just asks you to pay)
4. no "airport building." there's just a lean-to building with a little desk and a guy with a clipboard
5. Jen, who said she had pepto bismol on her teeth, got super-duper sick right before we left the country. Can you imagine flying on one of these little prop planes thinking you might puke every minute??
6. we loved every minute of it. Anyone want to go there with us later this year?

Winter sports!?

Who knew? There are these "other sports" that people do in the winter besides cycling... Last weekend I took a women's clinic so this weekend I drug the whole gang up. Lynn, Chris, Derek, Lucy and I all trekked up to Winter Park for a day of skate skiing. I thought Lucy would love it, but without a lesson (they were full) we struggled a little. After 20 mins on skis Lucy and I went inside for a Chariot. Its like our Burley for the bike except it's on skis and goes behind a nordic skier. She did like that! All in all... Derek's first day of skate skiing was a huge success! Lucy's first day... Well... Next time we'll arrange a lesson!

Its good to be home

Annie's cheddar bunny snack mix: We buy this stuff 2 boxes @ a time we love it so much. As soon as Lucy saw Daddy had it she jumped right up and curled up next to him. She picks out the cheddar bunnies avoiding the pretzels. Its cute ;)

In case you didn't know we've been in Costa Rica for the last 7 days. Pics to come, it was awesome! Cindy, you are a godsend for a grandma. And thanks to Paca for making lots and lots of ice cream with Lucy!
